Welcome, Welcome

Hello! And welcome to this new beginning for me! I’ve dabbled in blogging since I was a wee little high schooler. I am an external processor and my blogs were initially a place for me to share my thoughts, musings, and realizations. I decided to make a bigger commitment this year. My hope is for this to be what they call a lifestyle blog.

I have a few categories I anticipate talking about regularly, and will add more as necessary.

Nursling – where I will talk about being a nurse, things I learn, things that have helped me. I’ve only been a nurse for a year, and the more I’m a nurse the more I realize just how little I actually know.

Musings – where I will share my thoughts, my ponderings, my realizations. My “external processing” category of my blog.

Self Care – This will be where I talk about exercise, food I’m cooking, my favorite essential oil products, adventures I go on, etc.

A little bit about me – 

My name’s Amber. I grew up on 10 acres, just north of Columbus, OH. I am the only girl of 4. I loved growing up in the country and miss it all the time.

I graduated from Capital University with my Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Nursing (BSN) in December 2017, after 5 and half grueling years. I lived with a migraine for 6 mos during that period, and months migraines for years 3 years after the 6 mos migraine.

I’ve identified as a runner since I started running track in 7th grade, and fell in love with distance running when I joined cross country in 8th grade. I’ve completed 3 half marathons, and hope to run number 4 this October.

Over the last 6 mos I’ve gotten into yoga through online videos. At the beginning of the year I started going to a hot yoga studio (specifically bikram yoga) and have absolutely fallen in love with it. I never thought I would be a person who would enjoy hot yoga, but it turns out that 105 degree room is my jam.

I really love cooking. And reading is my most commonly practiced hobby. I have Gilmore Girls memorized, they got me through college.

My favorite way to start the morning is slowly sipping on a steaming cup of coffee and a good book.

I make it my goal in life to bring joy wherever I go.
