After a 6 mos hiatus from this blog, I’m excited to get back to it.
One of the things people often stress when giving blog writing advice is to have a target audience in mind, and one of the things that has held me up over the last month or so is feeling unsure about who my “target audience” is going to be. I’m a mid-twenties, caucasian woman. I grew up in small-town Ohio, and moved to Columbus, OH for college. I settled into Columbus during my college years and have stuck around since entering that weird young adult state of life.
I am a Registered Nurse working at the largest ER in Columbus. I love being a bedside nurse. Yes, I get frustrated with many aspects of being a nurse. But I became a nurse because I wanted to be able to help and in the ER I love getting to be there and care for people in their acute moments of crisis.
I discovered a love for Whole 30 and doterra essential oils in 2018. I try to be very aware of what I’m putting in and on my body. These have become staples of how I eat, how I clean,and how I provide for my emotional and physical well being.
I have loved running since I was a middle schooler, and in 2018 I discovered a deep love for Bikram Hot Yoga. People ask me how to get into running or yoga all the time, I always tell them I do these things because I thoroughly enjoy them and they add to my happiness. I’m a firm believer that your exercise of choice should be something you enjoy doing. Sure, there are some days that I don’t feel like showing up, but I never regret it when I talk myself into showing up for my workout.
My boyfriend is an Officer in the US Navy and later this year we will be moving to Jacksonville, FL. We have been long distance our entire relationship, and are really looking forward to getting to share life together physically.
Most days I feel like I’m floundering. I try to put my best foot forward each day. I try to meal plan well each week. I try to love my friends and family well. I try do my work as a nurse well. I try to get in the amount of exercise my body needs each week. My ultimate goal in this life is to build a life I love.
This blog is meant to be a lifestyle blog, where I share about all these different things I talked about above. I want to share the lessons I’m learning. I want to help women, nurses, and military spouses to not just survive, but thrive despite the challenges we may face.
