Feeling beyond accomplished today killing a 6 mile run without thinking about it. I said I was going to do 6 miles today. And I did it, with impressive time. Yesterday I took a total rest day. I laid in my papasan chair and read my book all day. I worked through some of my emotions. I shed some tears. I had some really beautiful and empowering realizations. In reality, I cleaned up some of that inside junk that needed cleared out, and it freed me to show up for myself today. It freed me to grow physically. I felt light and free while I was running, and truly enjoyed every single minute of it. Today I wasn’t using running to “run away” from my feelings. I was able to just show up and love every pounding step, every beat of my heart, every bead of sweat. And it felt so good. So this is your PSA to make sure you take the time to work on the inside stuff. It’s important. #girlwashyourface #rachelhollis #healthynurse #nursestrong #madeformore #strongnurse #nightshiftnurse #nurseswhorun #runnergirl #iamstrong #iampowerful #iambeautiful #hustlewithallyourheart #womenempowerwomen #empoweringwomennow #girlstopapologizing #starttoday #gratitudepractice #dailygratitude #practicegratitude #iamenough #iamworthy #icandohardthings #navyspouse #navygirlfriend #navywife #navylife #whole30
Hi friends 👋🏻 I wanted to do a little Friday introduction. I’m Amber! I moved to Jacksonville, Fl 2 weeks ago from Columbus, OH. The man that I love is a naval officer and this is where the navy sent us. We’ve been together 2 years and long distance the whole time, so we’re very excited to be in the same place. I’m an ER nurse. I love ER because I get to be with people and care for them in their acute moments of crisis. In the last 2 years I’ve grown and learned a lot especially about health, and I love sharing my journey with others and helping others get on their own health journey. We only have one life to live, and my greatest hope is to live it with my whole heart and help others to do the same. I love running and balance that out with yoga and body weight workouts. I’ve learned that the more well rounded of an athlete that I am, the better runner I can be. I’m a big fan of all things food. I used whole 30 as a guide for a while to help me learn how to eat food to nourish my body. It changed my thinking about food, and ultimately changed my life. Other than that I’m a big fan of books of all kinds. Personal development type books and novels. Every day I strive to live my life aligned with the belief that I am enough and I am capable of doing the hard things. #girlwashyourface #rachelhollis #healthynurse #nursestrong #madeformore #strongnurse #nightshiftnurse #nurseswhorun #runnergirl #iamstrong #iampowerful #iambeautiful #hustlewithallyourheart #womenempowerwomen #empoweringwomennow #girlstopapologizing #starttoday #gratitudepractice #dailygratitude #practicegratitude #iamenough #iamworthy #icandohardthings #navyspouse #navygirlfriend #navywife #navylife #whole30 #fridayintroductions
You are made for more. Yes, you. I’m a simple girl and I’ve always prided myself on my simple dreams, but that doesn’t mean I’m not made for more. Just because my dreams are seemingly small and simple, doesn’t mean their not important. I hear so many people say the words “I can’t” As in, I can’t get into a regular exercise routine. I can’t eat healthy. I can’t get in a good sleep schedule. I can’t. I can’t. I can’t. But here’s the thing - you can. But you have to believe it first. When I first graduated nursing school everyone told me I would gain weight going to night shift. You just gained weight, it was simply what happened when you worked nights. I was determined to prove those people wrong. I went to get to my healthiest state in my adult life. I cooked my meals. I packed my lunches. I slowly started adding in exercise. Over the last two years I lost 20 lbs and gained a ton of confidence. I started to fe confident and comfortable in my own skin. I developed a consistent exercise habit. I packed my lunches and cooked most of my meals at home. I started drinking more water. I learned to say no, and most of the time got adequate sleep, while working nights and traveling out of state for a week at a time once a month to see my boyfriend. I got back into my daily gratitude practice. I started reading more - novel and personal development type books to grow my knowledge base. Over the course of the lady 2 years I starred living in a way that reflected the belief that I am made for more. And you can do it too. If you want to run a half marathon, you can do it. If you want to be debt free, you are completely capable. If you want to be a published author, you can do it. You can do whatever you set your mind to. It may take 8 weeks or 8 mos or even 8 years. But you can do it, because you are made for more. #girlwashyourface #rachelhollis #healthynurse #nursestrong #madeformore #strongnurse #healthynurse #nightshiftnurse #nurseswhorun #runnergirl #iamstrong #iampowerful #iambeautiful #hustlewithallyourheart #womenempowerwomen #empoweringwomennow #girlstopapologizing #starttoday
Practice gratitude. I forgot how powerful it can be to practice gratitude in the moment. It has become such a habit of mine, every morning I write down 5 things I’m grateful for. Yesterday in my drives I hit a lot of rain and some really intense fog. Plus I get pretty anxious doing long drives to begin with, especially through the mountains. Yesterday I had to stop at a rest stop just to gather my bearings and calm my anxieties. But in the moment I remembered to practice gratitude. I noticed the flowers starting to bloom and the green buds showing up on the trees, and I gave thanks, for the gift of new life, for the gift spring, for the beauty of bright colors after the dreary winter. And I felt like a new woman. As I got anxious throughout my drive I was able to calm myself each time by noticing the beauty of the world around me and giving thanks. But guys. I’ve been working on this habit since 2013. I’ve literally been building this practice for 6 years! Growth and change and healing take time and effort. But I promise you, it’s worth the wait, it’s worth the effort. #girlwashyourface #rachelhollis #healthynurse #nursestrong #madeformore #strongnurse #healthynurse #nightshiftnurse #nurseswhorun #runnergirl #iamstrong #iampowerful #iambeautiful #hustlewithallyourheart #womenempowerwomen #empoweringwomennow #girlstopapologizing #starttoday #gratitudepractice #dailygratitude
Because it seems everyone is doing it today here’s a Friday introduction for you 💖 My name’s Amber. I’m from small town Ohio, currently moving to Jacksonville Florida. I’m an ER Nurse, I get to be with people in acute moments of distress and care for them. And that’s why I love Emergency Medicine I am a distance runner and I balance it with a love for yoga. Over the last 2 years I’ve made great strides in taking better care of myself, while working night shift. My greatest passion is helping others do the same. I’ve learned it’s really simple, but you have to choose to do it. You have to choose to show up for yourself. #fridayintroductions #girlwashyourface #rachelhollis #healthynurse #nursestrong #madeformore #strongnurse #healthynurse #nightshiftnurse #nurseswhorun #runnergirl #iamstrong #iampowerful #iambeautiful #hustlewithallyourheart #womenempowerwomen #empoweringwomennow #girlstopapologizing #starttoday
HELL YEAHHHHH!!!! Today I set out on a run and really tried for time. I am one of those weirdos who just honestly and genuinely enjoys running. I don’t often put forth effort for my time. I just kinda show up and hope for the best. Today I decided to try for time. I know my three mile loop. I know where 1 mile is. I know my turn around spot. I know my route really really well. So today I pushed and surprised the hell out of myself. I think the last time I ran 3 miles this fast consecutively I was a sophomore in high school. Here’s to the power of hard work and determination 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 #girlwashyourface #rachelhollis #healthynurse #nursestrong #madeformore #strongnurse #healthynurse #nightshiftnurse #nurseswhorun #runnergirl #iamstrong #iampowerful #iambeautiful #hustlewithallyourheart #womenempowerwomen #empoweringwomennow #girlstopapologizing #starttoday
